Alyssa is an eighteen year old young lady from Washington, DC by way of Mississippi.

An avid fan of the Boston Celtics and Washington Redskins, Alyssa enjoys watching sports, dancing, and hanging with friends. Her favorite book is “Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul.” She says that her most memorable high school moment was being the Mistress of Ceremony at her high school graduation.  

Alyssa says she chose attend Lincoln University because she wanted to attend an HBCU that was in a different part of the country, as well as, the warm environment she experienced when she visited. She plans on majoring in Civil Engineering and ultimately training others in the field of engineering.  Alyssa says that she plans on contributing to society by raising money for medical supplies for third world countries, and raising awareness of HIV/Aids among young African –Americans. Her biggest accomplishment to date was earning over 25,000 dollars in scholarships.
