Brigadier General Johnson graduated from Lincoln University with a BS in
Education.. He received an MA in Counseling Psychology from Lincoln
University in 1972. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry
in 1964. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College, the Army Command and
General Staff College, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, the Special
Forces Officer Course, the Infantry Officer Basic Course and the Basic
Airborne Course.
His assignments while on
active duty included the following: Infantry Platoon Leader, Reconnaisance
Platoon Leader, and Assistant Operations Officer 7th Infantry Division in
Korea. Infantry Platoon Leader and Company Commander; 3rd Infantry , The

Commendation Medal(Oak Leaf Cluster); Defense Meritorious Service Medal;
Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry; Combat Infantryman Badge; Special Forces Tab;
Air Assault Badge; and Parachute Badge. He has received numerous civilian
service awards and is included in Who’s Who in America.
He is married to Jay Dianne
Westbrook of Memphis, Tennessee and has a daughter, Julia.
