James Gurley, Jr.
James is a nineteen year old native
of Washington, DC. He is the son of Earl and Jessie Gurley. An avid fan of
the Dallas Cowboys, James enjoys playing football, drag racing,
weightlifting, and working on his car, His best high school memory was
playing high school football every Friday night. He cites Norton Juston’s,
“The Phantom Tollbooth” as his favorite book.
James says that he chose Lincoln
University because of the family atmosphere and beautiful campus. He plans
on majoring in Mechanical Technology and ultimately becoming a Mechanical
Engineer for General Motors. James says he plans on contributing to society
by working with programs to end homelessness as well as educating citizens
on global warming. His biggest accomplishment to date is being named
“National Scholar Athlete of the Week.”
